Solidworks Draft Longboard

Term 2 Week 5

This week i'm continuing with my mould, cutting out the curves and sanding them to perfection. I'm also writing this post and hope (later in the week) to post some more photos (as there are no new ones as of today). On wednesday we have no DTM because the third and fourth-formers have PLO day, disrupting our normal timetable. On thursday Terry is teaching us more about solidworks, so we will be in the computer rooms.

Term 2 Week 4

On monday i continued with my mould. I added another piece to my mould making the total to 7 pieces. I carefully measured the curvature, drawing onto the mould with a pencil. On Wednesday we were blogging. On Thursday we began our solidworks tutorial. Terry taught us how to make basic speakers. I learned lots about how to use solidworks that day. In week 5 I hope to begin actually cutting out the pieces to my mould and learn a bit more about Solidworks.

Term 2 Week 3

On Monday we had double practical. I was working on my longboard mould. First i began drawing up the exact curvature for the deck, but after two i realised that it would not work as my longboard goes inwards towards the back. So i decided to draw a scale diagram of my board on my mould (see pics). The drawing took a long time as i had to measure it everywhere. On the diagram i drew where the mold pieces would go and labeled them too. Today i'm posting stuff on this site to get up-to-date with our latest checklist. Tomorrow i hope to have a practical so i can finish drawing the curves and begin cutting them out.

Term 2 Week 2

On Monday period 3 i began with my piece of MDF board. I began measuring up the exact distances for each piece of my mould, before i realised that we had to put a small gap between each piece. So i restarted, this time adding a space between each piece. I finished and got Terry to cut it out. On wednesday we were in the com labs, i posted my photos from my mould from the previous day and posted my calendar. Today i 'm looking at the differrent grip tapes for my deck. I 'm also posting this.
